JL Collins

JL Collins is an Australian indie author specialising in contemporary erotic romance with political and military stakes. Raised in Canberra’s North Belconnen, he took ACTION buses into Civic as a child, later graduated in economics from the Australian National University, served as an infantry officer with 1/19 Royal New South Wales Regiment, and represented Australia on cryptography at the Wassenaar Arrangement in Vienna (2005–2009).

His Love of a Lifetime series traces Alison and Christian from a charged first meeting through East Timor, the Tampa affair, international postings, and a late-life reunion in the capital he knows best. Award-winning instalments include Ghost of Timor and Tampa Gold. A companion series, The Other Woman, follows intersecting lives and desires.
